Susquehanna 142

flying out of Syracuse

October 17, 2004

station stop in Cortland142 was in Syracuse to pull an excursion to Binghamton. The weather was not the best, but the engine was really put to the test and more than made up for the weather. There were four diesels behind the engine but you wouldn't know it from the sound of that engine. The trip was fast paced the whole way. Two photo runbys were made along the way. When the train arrived in Binghamton, the diesels were taken off the train to be run around to the other end and the 142 pulled the entire 20 car train into town on its own. You could hear that engine miles away!
