Morgan Manning House

mogul pulling a freight trainThe Morgan Manning House in Brockport, NY had a 4th of July Celebration and Tom Bowdler was invited to bring his live steam track to join in on the festivities. Several live steamers brought different types of engines to run and fortunately the rain stayed away while we were running our trains! This was the first time I saw Scot Lawrence's "shayish" engine and it was really something to watch. The boiler is from a boat kit and all power is transferred using chains, you have to see it to fully appreciate it! There was also a mogul, shay, coal fired shay, mikado, 0-4-0 and 0-4-4 running.

my ruby after a very brief runMy engine did not run very long because the work I did to convert the engine to a forney actually fell apart. Now I have no choice but to get working on a bigger and better conversion. I have all the materials, now I just need the time! It didn't really bother me that I could not run my engine because it was fun to watch all the other engines that were running! I took this picture just to show my engine was there and to show my newly painted combine.
