my ruby with a short freight

Finger Lakes Live Steam Club

my ruby crossing the bridgeThe Finger Lakes Live Steamers hold an open house every year in June and September and I finally had the chance to attend one. It was great! The train ride was nice and there always seemed to be a line to ride the train. The g gauge track was very nice and had a good variety of locomotives on display and running. It is set up with an elevated steaming section that leads into a ground level track that is planted very nicely. It may be the kick in the shorts I need to start my own garden layout. There was a 7.25" gauge triplex (2-8-8-8-4) on display and under construction, I can't wait to see that beast run! It is very clear that this is an active club with many projects going on. I can't wait to come back again.
