OL Smokey was built by Crown Metals in Pennsylvania. The train has been running here since 1960. They have moved the track several times since its first season though. The train ride is a quick trip on the outer edge of the park. The train crosses four bridges during the trip. Actually, this is one of the first things you see when driving into the park, it is off to the right as you drive in and parallels the rode for a little bit.
I was here in August of 2002. This place is very interesting, it has some of the best roller coasters around. I was impressed with the wood carving displays they had because they were all run with steam, there were several different boilers supplying power to different things threw out the park. The steam traction engine below was being used in a wood carving display right next to the steam train.
